Privacy Policy
At Sync My IP, we take the privacy and protection of our users' personal data very seriously. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the security measures we employ to protect it.
1. Data Controller
The data controller is Sergio Laguna Carmona (NIF 14619634Y), with address at Apartado de Correos 136, 41400 Écija (Sevilla), Spain. The website https://syncmyip.com and the Sync My IP software are operated in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws. You can contact us for any privacy-related questions at support@syncmyip.com.
2. Information We Collect and Storage
To provide our services, we only collect the minimum information necessary:
- Email Address: Requested when purchasing a license or starting a trial. It is used to deliver license keys, download links, and support communications.
- Payment Details: Payments are processed securely via Stripe and NOWPayments. Sync My IP does not collect, process, or store credit card numbers or wallet private keys on our servers.
- DNS Provider and Alert Credentials (Zero Server Storage): Sync My IP's web servers never collect, store, or transmit your Cloudflare, Hostinger or Namecheap API tokens or passwords, nor the credentials of your alert channels. These credentials are entered solely in the local software client installed on your computer and stored encrypted on your local drive.
- Public IP Address and DNS Updates (Local Processing): The desktop client software installed on your machine detects your public IP address and sends updates directly to your DNS provider's API. Your IP change history stays on your computer and is not stored on our web servers.
3. License Activation and Update Checks
When you activate a license or the software checks that it is still valid, it sends to syncmyip.com your email address, your license key and an anonymous identifier of your computer (a hash, not your hardware details). Our server records the IP address the request comes from and the date, to enforce the device limit of each license and to prevent abuse of trial licenses.
When the software checks for updates, it only sends its version number.
4. Uptime Monitors and Alerts
- Direct Checks: Monitors connect directly from your computer to the addresses you choose. The results and history of your monitors stay on your computer.
- Connectivity Checks: To tell an outage of your own internet connection from a real outage of your services, the software opens a connection, without sending any data, to the public DNS servers of Cloudflare, Google and Quad9.
- Alerts: Alerts are sent directly from your computer to the services you configure (Telegram, your email server, Slack, Discord and others), which apply their own privacy policies. They do not go through our servers.
5. How We Use Your Information
The collected data is used for the following purposes:
- To process purchases and manage software licensing.
- To provide technical support and resolve system issues.
- To send critical software security updates and transaction details.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties. We share data only with service providers critical to running our services:
- Stripe Inc. and NOWPayments: For secure financial transaction processing.
- Google (reCAPTCHA): To protect our forms from automated spam and abuse.
- Microsoft (Clarity): Heatmaps and session recordings of the website to understand how it is used. It is only loaded if you accept cookies in the cookie notice.
- Note on DNS providers and alert services: Although the local desktop client software communicates directly with the official APIs of your DNS provider (Cloudflare, Hostinger or Namecheap) and with the alert services you configure, this communication occurs strictly from your host machine, using the credentials you entered locally, without going through Sync My IP web servers.

9. Your Privacy Rights
Under GDPR and equivalent privacy regulations, you have the right to access, rectify, restrict, transfer, object to the processing of, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, please email your request to support@syncmyip.com. If you believe your data has not been handled correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or with your local supervisory authority.
